Carlos is correct, it used to be fdisk /mbr, but that was in the '98 - ? days. I don't even think that worked with XP, maybe?
I think it does, if you have an xp dos floppy. Dunno, I don't have an XP of my own. I understand that Windows can not be booted from a CD, to be used for rescue ops. However, I'm told there is an iso image of a windows xp on the mule that does precissely that, boot from a CD. Much appreciated on repair shops, even if illegal. Hirem boot, was it, perhaps? Ah, no, that's a tool chest (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiren's_boot_CD, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiren's_BootCD Ah, the wikipedia points to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VistaPE, a project to create a live Vista. And here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LiveDistros there is a list of rescue lives, for linux, windows, and more. Mmm... supergrub is not listed there. I also miss a very small live based on opensuse in there. On debian or ubuntu or gentoo, yes. And here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Live_USBs lists tools to create usb lives. Not one for opensuse. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
