There is nothing about "scanner".
cer@nimrodel:~> getfacl /dev/bus/usb/003/007 getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: dev/bus/usb/003/007 # owner: root # group: lp user::rw- group::rw- other::r--
The above says I have permission as user.
I logged out and in of gnome - still no access. I added myself to group "lp", then logged out and in of gnome - still no access, as user. I see that "sane-backends" got updated to "1.0.19-128.2" on "Sat Nov 29 2008", ie, in the interval where the problem started. It is the one from your repo (jsmeix). Reverting it to -48.1 does not work - unless I need to re-login. Same for "yast2-scanner". No good. hal was updated the same day to 0.5.11-8.2 (from the updates repo), and udev on Wed Sep 10 2008 to 120-13.1. nimrodel:~ # /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/test_and_set_scanner_access_permissions The following models are currently not known to HAL: USB-ID(hex)=04b8:0110 .... I revert hal. Bingo, it works! I'll open a bugzilla. nimrodel:~ # /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/test_and_set_scanner_access_permissions nimrodel:~ # - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
