I have 8.1 pro and Wacom tablet. I managed to "configure" under SAX2, but how do I actually get it responding.. I have PS2 mouse and tablet is USB. How to get it responding, do I have to change mouse setting or what ?
I wrote a very detailed how-to on using this with SuSE 8.0 a couple of months ago - search the archives, or you can also see it on Togan's site (http://susefaq.sourceforge.net). SuSE 8.1 is marginally easier to install, but if I remember correctly it didn't write some of the XF86Config entries properly. Have a look at this and see if you get anywhere - if you still have problems I will try to dig out my 8.1 notes.
The tablet itself works fine, but with the GIMP (the only thing I use it with), it has the unfortunate feature that if you unplug it and then reinsert it the GIMP can no longer see it, so you have to keep it in all the time. The only reliable way to get the GIMP to see it again is to reboot (!) - occasionally just restarting the Xserver will work, but not always.
This was helpful doc, thanks.. Got so far that with xxd I can see that the box reads something from the tablet and I suppose I have everything right in XF86config. grep -i wacom /var/log/XFree86.0.log (II) LoadModule: "wacom" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o (II) Module wacom: vendor="The XFree86 Project" (II) Wacom driver level: 26 $ (II) LoadModule: "wacom" (II) Reloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o (II) Wacom driver level: 26 $ (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Eraser" (type: Wacom Eraser) (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Stylus" (type: Wacom Stylus) (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Cursor" (type: Wacom Cursor) (==) Wacom Kernel Input device name: "Wacom Intuos2 6x8" (==) Wacom tablet maximum X=20320 maximum Y=15040 X resolution=0 Y resolution=0 suppress=14 (==) Wacom tablet top X=0 top Y=0 bottom X=18800 bottom Y=15040 (==) Wacom tablet top X=0 top Y=0 bottom X=18800 bottom Y=15040 (==) Wacom tablet top X=0 top Y=0 bottom X=18800 bottom Y=15040 This seems that everything should be ok.. But no movement, if I pick up my pen and move with it on tablet... I was just wondering that I shouldn't have any effect that I don't use KDE / GNOME, but fluxbox as windowmanager..... Anuy ideas how to go on ? P_S
