How does Suse 10 Enterprise compare to Suse 10 boxed DVD? What are the benefits of the one over the other if any? You are probably better off going to the Novell or OpenSuSE site, but in a capsule: There are 2 Enterprise offerings: SuSE Enterprise Server (SLES10) and SuSE Enterprise Desktop SLED10). As mentioned, the enterprise editions come with support and additional stability. While there are updates, the release cycle is slower (I believe 2 years). SLES10 and SLED10 have many features from SuSE 10.1.
In contrast, SuSE 10, 10.1, 10.2, ... are designed to be more state of the art or cutting edge, but have very little support other than this and related listservs. In part, these releases are somewhat beta releases for the enterprise. Both the OpenSuSE releases and the enterprise releases use essentially the same code base. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
