I know there used to be a hardware compatibility. I haven't looked in a few years since SuSE became openSUSE.
Any card with the broadcom 4318 chip. The new ssb + b43 modules in 11.0 really work well with these modules loaded.
Thanks for the tip - I thought broadcom was "evil" and only to be used with ndiswrapper. I did eventually find the HCL and the status of the card. It says, "After installing the NON-GPL kernel, card works out of the box. Yast2 uses module ath_pci. Works with SuSe 10.2 after installing madwifi (tested with madwifi-0.9.2.1-0.1 and WG311-T card). " No mention of 10.3 or 11.0 in there. Also, I've been trying to figure how one gets a "NOn-GPL" kernel. Andreas had some blog entry about it, but I can't see "non-gpl" in YaST when looking for kernel or non-gpl or atheros. -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
