I un-installed gnome-screensaver and installed xscreensaver and it worked just fine. There are entries in gconf for DPMS for gnome-screensaver but they didn't have any effect on my system. When I installed xscreensaver gnome seemed to automatically use it as the screensaver which was nice. Cheers, Dan On Mon, 2005-10-17 at 13:39 -0400, Bruce Smith wrote:
I just installed SuSE 10.0 on a couple PC's and I love it. The only issue I'm having is with gnome-screensaver. I can't get it to power off my monitor (like xscreensaver did).
I can't find an option for DPMS/power-save in it's setup. I checked xorg.conf and the monitor DOES have: option "DPMS". I turned on DPMS manually from a xterm with "xset", and still nothing.
The monitor DOES go into powersave when waiting at the GDM login, just not when gnome-screensaver has my workstation locked.
Is there some way to config gnome-screensaver for powersave? Or is there a way to switch back to xscreensaver in gnome?
Thanks!!!
