3. Has anyone gotten the pilot-link stuff to work with USB based Palms (I have an m505)? With Jpilot? With Evolution? If so, how?
USB requires pilot-link 0.11.x, but SuSE have only supplied 0.9.5. James Ogley (of usr-local-bin) tried compiling new rpms of the later version, but they conflicted with other components. So it looks like it'll be a while before we can sync our USB devices (I have a Handspring Visor). Unless you want to try compiling your own versions...
3. Configure GNOME2 so I can actually get some work done. I'm primarily a GNOME user (I started out on RedHat 6.2) and feel most comfortable in that environment, though KDE3 has more of the features I was missing in earlier releases.
Gnome2 is quite nice (I'm also Gnome-oriented) but there are a few annoyances. The biggest one for me is that Metacity (the default WM) insists on raising any window that you click on to the top of the stack. I've tried other WMs with little success (they either don't work with Gnome2 properly or don't maintain stack order), not even with Sawfish2 (which is a bit buggy and seems not to keep stack order any more).
