Way too inefficient, *Office is not suited for processing large amounts(*) of data. We rotate all logs at midnight, then rsync them to a central archive and run daily analysis during the night. All command line tools.
(*) I am assuming large amounts because small amounts don't require any tools, really.
I mention LO because that's the only powerful table viewer I know in Linux that can apply filters and such. Do you know some viewer for the journal, where I can, say, filter out of display all nntp messages?
