Well, at the time I started I wasn't using Linux at all. I have since transitioned completely over to linux. I still have the internal 3Com DSL modem, which is worthless in Linux. BTW: Does anyone know if drivers were ever developed for that thing?

Is this what they are still offering? I had heard that you can only get the internal ones now. Does anyone know if this is true? I have one of the earlier Alcatel 1000 modems and it is still working but one problem I have is that my line quality is not very good (I get lots of crackling in phone calls) and my model is too frequently dropping off line. Does anyone have any comments to offer on this subject? Are newer modems more able to keep a connection under adverse conditions?
I am using a Cayman DSL modem/Router. IT was an interesting acquisition that made using Linux at home possible. Anyway for a while now I get drops when it rains, other than that I am up 24/7. I hope when I call support they don't ask about OS. :-). They'll blame the rain for messing with Linux and causing the outages. -- See Ya' Howard Coles Jr. John 3:16!
