Why is this difference, where is it documented, and how could I fix it, prevent the removing /media/floppy?
Do not use /media/floppy, use /mnt/floppy. You never should have used media, and now you are forced not to.
Documented in release notes, it is a ram disk.
Agreed. I got caught on this too. Don't manually create *any* folders under /media or it will break the automounter. For ages I was wondering why optical disks were no longer being auto-mounted. The error messages I got from hal weren't helpful at all. I found that I had manually created a directory under /media at some time - removing that fixed the problem. Use /mnt/ for manually created mount points and leave /media for the automounter. -- ========================================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au ========================================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
