Everyday, I suspect after the cron daemon does its job, I see that 'manpath -q' takes up 90% of my CPU. It never stops running. I checked the man page for manpath and it just locates the directory of the man pages. Why does this just keep running non-stop and how do I fix this? Thanks. (SuSE 6.4 on p2 266, 64mb ram)
I have noticed this on my system also. However, SuSE just sent out another security update regarding the 'aaa' package. The file '/etc/cron.daily/aaa_base_do_mandb' contains the only info regarding 'MANPATH' I can find in the daily cron directory. When I run 'manpath -q' now everything appears to be ok (cpu usage is normal). I won't be 100% confident that all is well until the morning. -- [-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- adam j henry =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=] | [http: www.heidelberg.edu/~ahenry] [pgp: 0xBD168A74] | | [mailto: ahenry@heidelberg.edu] [icq: 69243836] | [-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=] -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
