Does anyone know if the new kde 2.2 rpms for Suse ( i386) have been compiled with the new speed optimisations
On the KDE release info page http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-2.2.html there is a link to a http://master.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/2.2/SuSE/README that contains any info you would need.
or do we have to download the source and compile them in ourselves
As you can see in the README, there is no such need if you own an AMD Athlon or Intel PII *and* is using SuSE 7.1 or SuSE 7.2. I'm going to try this soon. Just waiting for the rsync to finish...
