I almost always use DVD+R discs and so far I have never experienced a
problem with reading those in DVD-readonly players.

Hi all.
I was wondering if someone can point me in the direct of a simple script that I can use to make a nightly DVD backup of our data.
Currently our data is about 4gb and fits onto one dvd.
I have been manually backing up the data to another linux box but I would also like to make a nightly DVD-RW that rewrites the DVD which we can then store. We plan to store about 7 days worth of data and will reuse the DVDs. I can't tell you how to do the script but I can give you some advice - don't use rewitable DVDs. For backups you should use DVD-Rs to give yourself a better chance of actually being able to read the data back when you need it.

Alan,
Is there some disadvantage to DVD+Rs?
