There's no LO help in the standard openSUSE repositories AFAIK and I haven't looked at other oS repositories so sometime ago I installed the help from the LO site and it worked. It no longer does, so I suppose some careless openSUSE update has broken it.
It's in usr/lib64/libreoffice/help/ in my case.
LO help has been chaotic for quite a while. I understand it's the difficulty of maintaining help that is accurate with a continually updating code base, then exacerbated by openSUSE's packaging policies.
Fortunately I don't usually try to do anything ambitious with the program any longer, so I'm not often looking for help.
zypper -v in --force libreoffice-l10n-en
should populate /usr/lib64/libreoffice/help/ for you
That package does not contain help files on the last 42.3 update, which I installed minutes ago in this laptop: cer@minas-tirith:~> rpm -ql libreoffice-l10n-en /usr/share/libreoffice/share/autotext /usr/share/libreoffice/share/autotext/en-US /usr/share/libreoffice/share/autotext/en-US/crdbus50.bau /usr/share/libreoffice/share/autotext/en-US/standard.bau /usr/share/libreoffice/share/autotext/en-US/template.bau /usr/share/libreoffice/share/registry /usr/share/libreoffice/share/registry/Langpack-en-US.xcd /usr/share/libreoffice/share/registry/res /usr/share/libreoffice/share/registry/res/fcfg_langpack_en-US.xcd /usr/share/libreoffice/share/wizards /usr/share/libreoffice/share/wizards/resources_en_US.properties cer@minas-tirith:~> There is an almost empty help tree under /usr/lib64/libreoffice/help, and an old and unpopulated one under /usr/lib/libreoffice/help I run updatedb, then locate to try to find some of the help files don downloaded, and I can not find them anywhere in my system.
