Ok, I have read it. and I tried, but no go. Here is what I did. 1: Changed the line in /etc/rc.config which read: INITRD_MODULES="" to: INITRD_MODULES="ext3" 2: changed /etc/fstab to read ext3 for the partition I want as ext3 3: computer:/ # mk_initrd 4: reboot. the result is that the partition will not mount. So I look through the /var/log/boot.msg file and find a few things: . . . <6>Journalled Block Device driver loaded <3>ext3: No journal on filesystem on ide0(3,1) <4>ide0: unexpected interrupt, status=0x58, count=1 . . mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda1, or too many mounted file systems . . . . So it looks to me like the ext3 driver is loading (good) but it thinks the drive/partition is not ready. There is a .journal file on the partition in question, it was created yesterday when I ran tune2fs -j /dev/hda1 I though of deleting the .journal file and running the initialization command again, but it says that the file is read-only, and does not want to delete it. Is it safe to force it? On Wednesday, December 19, 2001, at 10:55 PM, Purple Shirt wrote:
