Good decision -- wherever it came from. 42.3 is a very solid and enjoyable release :)
I totally agree, this makes my life a lot easier.
But why? Is it something to do with Leap 15?
It's nothing to do with Leap 15 - I'm no longer going to be running Leap 42.3 even with this extended support, 15 is wonderful for my needs But SLE 12 SP3 has a support period that made it feasible for SUSE to give us a few months extra support for their part on Leap 42.3, so we figured out how we could continue support for a Leap release when it's base system is still under support by SUSE without causing too much extra work for everyone involved.
