Well, I have never heard of a control channel on Wifi. However, on 2.4 GHz, the channel you choose is actually 1 of 4 or 5, depending on which WiFi version. I also have that app and just checked. I didn't see any mention of Wifo control channel. BTW, O'Reilly has several Wifi books by Matthew Gast.
