Hi, I'm trying to get cached credentials in combination with an ADS server. Started of with Winbind, but besides issues with groups the cached credentials just work on and off. Crashing nscd, and so on. So I jumped to basic ldap authentication against the LDAP server with 'pam_ldap'. Great peace of software, works flawlessly with the ADS server, wwwwwway better than winbind. But now the latest part: cached credentials. As a laptop user I need this to work, but here's the problem: the 'pam_ccreds' package is provided with OpenSUSE, but AFAIK it needs 'nss_updatedb' to work in the end. Now comes the ugly part: SUSE doesn't provide 'nss_updatedb'! This is getting rather frustrating because on other distros like Ubuntu these software is shipped, and according to the wiki 'it just works'. So my question: am I wrong about the functioning of 'pam_ccreds'? Can I get it to work without the need for 'nss_updatedb'?
