just for fun, I tried to install Sylpheed claws on my SUSE 10.0 system. the ./configure ended with this error: checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.4.0... no *** Could not run GTK+ test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK+ is incorrectly installed. configure: error: Test for GTK failed. See the file 'INSTALL' for help. I have these installed: # rpm -qa|grep gtk gtk-engines-0.12-965 gtkspell-2.0.11-5 gtk-devel-1.2.10-888 gtkhtml2-3.8.0-3 gtk2-engines-2.6.5-5 gtkglarea-1.2.2-895 gtkhtml-1.1.10-213 gtkpod-0.99.2-1.pm.1 libgtkhtml-2.6.3-9 python-gtk-2.8.0-3 gtk-xfce-engine-2.2.7-3 gtk-qt-engine-0.6cvs20050709-3.guru.suse100 gtk-1.2.10-888 gtksourceview-1.4.1-2 gtk2-2.8.3-4.3 and these: glibc-2.3.5-40 glib2-devel-2.8.4-5 glib2-2.8.4-5 glibc-locale-2.3.5-40 poppler-glib-0.4.2-11 glib-1.2.10-595 glibc-i18ndata-2.3.5-40 dbus-1-glib-0.35.2-8 glibc-devel-2.3.5-40 glib-devel-1.2.10-595 -------------------------------- any ideas?? -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux user # 367800 X-Request-PGP: http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-pcartwright/key.asc
