But how do I deal with it?
How about this?
# rpm -ivh imagescan-bundle-opensuse-15.2-3.65.0.x64.rpm/core/imagescan-3.65.0-1epson4opensuse15.2.x86_64.rpm
linux1:/home/doug/Downloads # rpm -ivh imagescan-bundle-opensuse-15.2-3.65.0.x64.rpm/core/imagescan-3.65.0-1epson4opensuse15.2.x86_64.rpm
Preparing... ################################# [100%] package imagescan-3.65.0-1epson4opensuse15.2.x86_64 is already installed --doug
Indeed. On the whole, I prefer using zypper rather than raw rpm because zypper does some sanity & consistency and dependency checks.
just saying ... I do use zypper, altho I am comfortable using the rpm -Uvh command. The -ivh mentioned above was suggested and so I went along. I forget what the difference is between Uvh and ivh, and I'm too lazy to go look it up! --doug
