(if you as me are usin SuSE personal 8.2 only HSF modem driver is available also from linuxant)

Linuxant are the "they" I was referring to in my earlier message. Looks like I, and anyone else, will need to fork out the $US14.95 they want for the latest driver (for HCF and HSF) because it is kernel v2.6 compatible - and v2.6 is about to be made generally available.
