Linuxant are the "they" I was referring to in my earlier message. Looks like I, and anyone else, will need to fork out the $US14.95 they want for the latest driver (for HCF and HSF) because it is kernel v2.6 compatible - and v2.6 is about to be made generally available. Hi Cheers Which version of kernel do you have? My modem worked properly for many time but I don't know with which driver. ( HCF or HSF) I checked with uname -r : 2.4.18-64GB-SMP I think I need hcfpcimodem-1.00lnxt03091600free_k2.4.18_64GB-1suse.i386.rpm.zip Mohammad Fattahian Eedé Business Solution -----Original Message----- From: Basil Chupin [mailto:blchupin@tpg.com.au] Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 5:50 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] HCF Modem Problem Cuitláhuac Tomás Gómez Labougle wrote:

If uname -r is showing you 2.4.18 then this is kernel number for which you should be downloading the driver. But it is of little use downloading the free driver because it is restricts your modem to a top speed of only 14.4K - which is fine if this doesn't worry you. If you have a 56K modem then you will need to spend the $US14.95 for the full driver. Cheers. -- Hire teenagers while they still know everything.
