I'm looking for some advice.
After blowing up my SuSE 9.3 Pro installation last week (turns out to be a HDD problem) I've bought myself a new box: * Athlon 64 bit dual core * Lots of RAM * Lots of HDD space
(Woo-hoo!)
Now, I'm wondering about how I should set it up. Firstly, is it worth me getting the 64 bit version of SuSE? I have a plain vanilla 32bit 10.0 boxed set. Are the advantages of the 64 bit version worth me waiting a few days for?
Secondly, should I set up Xen? As my infrequent postings to this list have shown, I'm a useless sysadmin, but I can see some advantages in using Xen to test my progs under Linux and Windows without having to reboot into another installation. Is installing Xen and then installing Linux and Windows under it something that a novice should attempt - or should I leave that to the professionals and just install on separate partitions?
Any and all advice gratefully received.
Cheers
Peter The boxed set has the 64bit version on it, and will automatically install it!
