Hello list, I love networking & I HATE networking! I need a guru that actually knows networking to take pity on me. My SuSE machine keeps connecting to localhost.com instead of the SuSE document page. I have three machines: linuxbox.mynetmax.net netmax.mynetmax.net bizibox2.mynetmax.net (WIndows). IP's are 192.168.0.3 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.8 (there's a reason for the gaps in numbering - virtual machines) Netmax.mynetmax.net is the gateway (192.168.0.1) BTW, netmax is just a firewall program based on RH 6.1....got it cheap, and it runs on my little 233 with the rotten SiS chips. Anyway, everybody can ping everybody and everyone can hook to the net and get mail, etc. through the server (netmax), and at the same time. I can move files all over the place, no problem. I print through the Windows machine from linuxbox, and linuxbox is also the Samba server. This is a fresh install of 7.0 Pro w/ KDE2 On 6.4 it all worked including accessing the SuSE start up page in netscape(localhost). Only thing different is I actually added the machines to the domain: mynetmax.net in the server this time, and changed the machine names individually, from, ie: linuxbox.net -> linuxbox.mynetmax.net, etc. If this is the problem, can someone tell me why? I yearn to learn!
