I have been attempting for some time now to get gaim to work on my SuSE 7.0, KDE 2.2.1, Xfree 4.1, Kernel 2.2.19 and with glib greater than 1.2.3 box. Are you saying that attempting to compile the package you get that error message? I guess from configure? Check configure for an option to set the path to the lib.. Try ./configure --help Look for something letting you set the lib location. Other then that I'm not sure what you can try. Nick
