If you are typing export foo=foo in a shell then it will be lost when the shell terminates. If you want it in your environment everytime you start a shell (and if you use bash) then stick it in ~/.bashrc. RR writes:
i am using export foo=foo but when i reboot variable is lost, am i missing osmething
