Encrypt passwords = yes in smb.conf? Also upgrade your Samba via ftp.suse.com and if you are there do the kernel as well.....not that the kernel will change Samba, it is just that if you will be running 2.4, do it on a more recent version that SuSE has released and is more stable..... Can somebody help me? I installed a new small network, at the moment a linux 7.1 (Kernel 2.4.0) for server, samb included We also used a workstation Windows Millenium V4.90.3000. Both cpu's has an intel motherboard type D818EEA2L with a built in network card. Regedit was updated and we used the network card driver supplied by the vendor. Problem whit the workstation: ping is succesfull startup time telnet 90sec before reply correct login connection with samba: not possible (no domain server to validate password)
Login from a second workstation, ASUS CUVX motherboard and W97 works fine. Sombody an idea?? Thanks
