I just wanted to pass along that with a default install of SuSE 8.0 and the kernel source, the /usr/src/linux link points to /usr/src/linux-2.4.18.SuSE (as it should). When the source is installed, it includes a .config file. When I did a "make cloneconfig" to create a .config from the running kernel and did a diff against the installed one, they were identical. It is also identical to the /boot/vmlinuz.config file (also installed by default). I've seen several posts suggesting a "make cloneconfig" prior to compiling a new kernel (with the SuSE patches), and while it produces the same .config file, it is not necessary on a default install. Probably useless trivia for most people, but interesting to me :) Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net
