I've downloaded the KDE 2.2 rpms from the SuSE site and tried to install them (being careful to do it from a mode 3 bootup in text mode). I get a bunch of dependency and conflict errors when I do the install on the files in the base subdirectory, though. I realize that I could force the installation by using the --force and --nodeps options of rpm, but that seems like an open invitation to trouble down the road.
Is there a description somewhere of how to do a clean install of these packages (using rpm itself, not some Yast variant)? Are there errors that I can safely ignore or override? I currently have the 2.2beta2 version of kde installed.
How about posting the exact errors here? That might make it easier to give you a hint :) LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH mailto:grimmer@suse.de Schanzaeckerstr. 10 http://www.suse.de/~grimmer/ 90443 Nuernberg, Germany Reader not found, please notify tagline.
