Niels- Thanks for replying. Would I be best off trying a different distribution then? I'm trying to set up a firewall, internet gateway machine, and I'm starting to think that Suse might not be best cut out for that use (I'm still completely happy with Suse for my main machine). Any suggestions? I've tried Freesco, but it seems to be set up for regular modems -- not ISDN ones. -Rob -----Original Message----- From: Niels Stenhoj [mailto:stenhoj@adr.dk] Sent: 10 October 2000 20:07 To: Robert Wills Cc: Suse Linux Mailing list Subject: Re: [SLE] Eicon Diva T/A ISDN on Suse 6.3 On Tue, 10 Oct 2000, Robert Wills wrote: | Hello all. | | Does anyone have any experience with installing this or any other ISDN | modem on Suse. I had to use a piece of crap called Wvdial. In Windows it took about 3 seconds to get connected, whereas in SuSE with Wvdial it took about 30 seconds. I decided to get an internal ISDN adapter, and it turned out to be the right choice. But of course, I still wonder why SuSE is so much in love with Wvdial. It cripples the fine performance of the Eicon Diva T/A ISDN Modem. I'm very pleased with my AsusCom ISDN-Link internal adapter.
