Hi all, I'm running Opensuse 13.1 and my sound configuration is generally OK, but it starts dimmed after booting up. Let me explain ... I'm allways listening to a radio station via a radiocard and kradio4, and after booting up I can hear the radiostation playing, but the sound does not have it's full glory, like if you're missing trebble and bass and what not ... To restore the sound to its full crispness, I need to launch "kcmshell4 kcm_phonon" (or right click kmix and choose sound configuration). What happens then is that I hear a crack and the radio looses its tuned station. But when I restore the station, the sound suddenly has its full clearness en volume. I do not have to tweak any volumes or anything else. Probably the module kcm_phonon triggers sth but what is impossible for me to tell. There are no new processes spawned at all. And using "amixer" I see no difference before and after the action. I must add that I have an Abit 5.1 surround system attached to my sound card (HDA Intel on Asus MB). The radio card's output goes into the line-in of the sound card. I've been using this setup for years and e.g., in my previous Opensuse 11.4, I never had to do anything to make it work as it is supposed to. Anyone with a similar experience and a solution?
