Often the volume for the CD player is turned to o by default. Open up the meunu and under multimedia look for sound mixer and turn the volume of the CD player to the volume that you want. If you have upgraded KDE you may have to select the mixer twice ( I don't understand why, but it works). -- Marianne Taylor On Sunday 02 December 2001 14:18, Joshua Lee wrote:
I try to play audio CDs using the audio CD player that comes with SuSE 7.2. I get silence, even though the timer advances; and it also says it doesn't have CDDB data even though the CD is semi-popular. Other programs such as realplayer and DVD software make sounds properly. (Though I don't hear the start-up sounds while booting up KDE.)
