Oh, and how did you install the *.RPM?
I don't remember for sure, but I usually install an rpm by apt-get install filename.rpm (all on one line)
I would certainly have installed the 64 bit version.
apt-get? That is not an openSUSE tool. Trouble.
cnf apt-get
Program 'apt-get' is present in package 'zypper-aptitude', which is installed on your system.
Absolute path to 'apt-get' is '/usr/bin/apt-get'. Please check your $PATH variable to see whether it contains the mentioned path.

I don't know what it means to "check a variable" or how to do so.
AFAIK. apt-get install works on any linux system, and it has worked fine on this Tumbleweed system up to now.
I'm not really sure how to use zypper, so I do what I know.
I appreciate your assistance! --doug
afaik, it works on debian/*butu/deritives. it work on openSUSE but whether it is the best tool for openSUSE if debatible. BUT, zypper (and yast) are made for openSUSE and are the best tools for it. If you intend to continue on openSUSE, you should learn one or both. I prefer zypper and it is easy and documented and similar but different than the apt-*** applications which are tuned to use zypper. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
