What adapter are you using? Is it on the SuSE hardware list? I bought my SCSI adapter on eBay for a very low price (US $15) Can you perhaps get another (supported) adapter?
The adapter that I have is an on board adapter. The server is an HP Proliant DL 380 G3, and this server is certified by Suse. May be I have to change something on kernel.
