Hi All...
I was given a TV card, but I have no idea who made it. There is no FCC number on it. But there is this number "P/N:PCB95103" Also on the chip is

Also there is a large silver box on the card on this box is marked "NTSC USA". I'm guessing that this means that it's for the US TV system. If so, is it possible to use it in Europe?
Thanks!

The European and US tv systems are fundamentally incompatible. NTSC stands for National Television Standards Committee, or, by many Euoropeans, Never The Same Color. US tv uses 525 lines at a 30 Hz frame rate, with interlaced scan. European systems use 600+ lines (I don't remember exactly how many--625?) at a 25 Hz frame rate. Probably the color subcarrier is also different, since it was chosen to work with the US scan/frame system. However, if you had a VCR that played US tapes, into a US tv, you could probably feed it into the card. Or a camcorder with a US style output. --doug
