Success!! ... Again thanks to this mailing list... To be honest, YaST's reputation is the reason why I didn't try SuSE sooner. I've read a lot of negative reviews about SuSE which focused on YaST's shortcomings.
From houghi: Adding the repositories mentioned in 1.1 should be enough. Adding Packman and Guru will take care of almost everything else.
I didn't have any luck after adding Packman and Guru, but I think they might
be important in the future. I left them in my Installation Sources

I just switched from Fedora Core to SuSE. My first growing pain...
My problem is that I need to find and install the following packages: cups-devel python-devel python-xml PyQt net-snmp-devel openssl
IIRC all this files are on the official inst-source. Check [1] for a mirror close to you and add the url saying 'Internet Installation Repository' to your YaST sources and you should be fine. Additional software not available on inst-source can be found on the repos houghi already pointed out.* *
Yeah, excuse early morning here before any coffee, here you have the missing link:
Part of my problem, it turns out, is that the mirror which is closest to me (Australia, I'm in Malaysia) doesn't have the inst-source subdirectory for 10.0. I ended up using a mirror from Japan. Then, I had to disable the installation source from the CD media because one of the packages I wanted to install was found there first. It probably would've also worked if I had either moved the CD source down in the list or if I had just stuck the CD in the drive. I just didn't want to rely on the CD because I won't have it in the future. It's on a CD-RW which I want to re-use for other things. Going off to get some coffee ;)
