Tanks T. Allison (that is your name, i suppose) for your kind reply.
I check wath you asked me and i can answer you that i have a file amavisd under /etc/sysconfig where i found the setting 'USE_AMAVIS = yes'.
About main.cf i realize that i was made mistake in main config because i wrote:
content_filter = vscan instead content_filter = vscan: (forgotting ":" made me crazy)
Now I can see from mail log that amavisd is runnig and that it calls antivir to check the mail content for antivirus but i still have problems in postfix smtp backend. Really i get this error from amavislog.txt:
mailserver amavis[2548]: mail forwarding failed, retry: Failure to connect to local SMTP port: Connection refused at /usr/sbin/amavisd line 1134, <GEN0> line 17.
I enclosed you master.cf and postconf -n txt files, plus a piece of mail log report about tracing of amavis activities.
Check them if you can and reply me if you have some suggets about it.
thanks and cheers.
tallison@fluffy:~> grep content_filter /etc/postfix/ma*cf /etc/postfix/main.cf:content_filter = /etc/postfix/master.cf:smtp inet n - n - - smtpd -o content_filter=smtp:localhost:10024 /etc/postfix/master.cf:localhost:10025 inet n - n - -smtpd -o content_filter= Look up the docs in postfix on how to do this. Essentially what you are doing it sending up email from postfix-smtp -> localhost:10024 This is received by amavis who is listening on 10024, the response is fired back out 10025 to smtpd a second time. This second delivery attempt is pushed through to the main.cf 'mailbox_transport' which is sent out of postfix to something else: procmail, cyrus.... Amavis works by doing a loop through postfix a second time using ports 10024/10025 instead of 25 and a mailbox_transport HTH
