I hunted a lots of problems down with my new motherboard: ASUS P4B with Pentium-4 2000 MHz, 1 GB RAM ;-) First I did not know that I need a different power supply, so that the system can boot from the floppy ( my fault ) Now I figured out that the 7.3 boot diskette is not working and I went back to the 7.2 boot diskette and it works. I boot with 7.2 and installed via ftp: 1. grep refuses to install via ftp, ... tried several times, it remains uninstallable !!! 2. I installed Standard 2.4 kernel and reboot and get the same result as from the 7.3 boot diskette: Booting with 7.3 (last messages before the system stops) ..... Checking 'hlt' instruction ... What is missing / wrong in 7.3?
