There is difference. SLES8 is really Suse 8.1 :-)
Maintenance... Hmm. Well, we have legal copy of SLES8.
I _always_ install my own kernel (well, currently this is 2.4.20 from Suse
8.2) to all servers, on which
we don't need certified OS.
Why? For instance, SLES8 kernel still contains XFS 1.1, which is not good
for really loaded file servers, I also
need ACL support on ext3...
I think that you have clear choise- "supported" software or what you really
need ;-)
