Hi list, The logs on my mail server has been filled with these messages recently (System is openSUSE 11.0 x86): Oct 8 15:25:14 SoliD authdaemond: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so): /lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so: undefined symbol: pam_syslog Oct 8 15:25:14 SoliD authdaemond: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so ldd shows:
ldd -r /lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so undefined symbol: pam_syslog (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_set_data (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_get_item (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_vprompt (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_set_item (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_get_data (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) undefined symbol: pam_prompt (/lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so) linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xb7edd000) libcrack.so.2 => /usr/lib/libcrack.so.2 (0xb7ed1000) libxcrypt.so.2 => /lib/libxcrypt.so.2 (0xb7ea4000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb7d61000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7eff000)
rpm -qf /lib/security/pam_pwcheck.so pam-modules-11.0-35.1
Where do I go from here, to debug/solve this error. Authentication actually does work, so the repeated messages in the logs every couple of minutes is the biggest problem (annoyance).
