Folks...
Im about to retire my p166 for a new SuSE Linux machine In the past
I've never paid much attention to hardware spec related questions (due
to the fact that I never had new hardware to deal with).
The time has come where Im going to build a new box and would appreciate
suggestions as to
need advise on
motherboard
cpu chipset
sound card <no good idea>
video card
nic <I have nics now but they are different brands need recommendation>
least concerned
hd
memory
modern <some sort of non winmodem>
cdr <guessing they are all the same IDE>
This will be a SuSE Linux only machine and Id appreciate advise so as
configuration/detection is fully recognized and supported by SuSE Linux
Im looking forward to putting this box together and really need some
advise so I don't get something that's painful to set up.
I figure its just as easy to ask people who have went before me then to
get it wrong
