John, Kernel 2.2.X didn't include any PCMCIA stuff. Modules you once had were from Davind Hinds pcmcia-cs package. You should be able to get them back by downloading this package here: ftp://projects.sourceforge.net/pub/pcmcia-cs/ Or simply install the package from SuSE's CD's, if you have them.
