Hi all. Given the recent discussions re GRUB, I thought I might mention a rather useful tool I've just come across - KGRUBEditor. I found it in the KDE Community factory repo at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.0... but it is probably in the build service via one-click too. As its name implies, it is a KDE4 graphical tool for viewing and editing grub config files. Warning: You could do damage to your system if you play with it without knowing what you're doing. Nevertheless, it has a useful wizard mode for editing menu.lst boot entries and allows you to view the config files and grub device mapping. That is perhaps its most useful learning feature - it has a table where you can view the relationship between the /dev device nodes, the grub partition name and the partition uuid (screenshot attached). I hope others find this useful. Cheers, Rodney. -- =================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au ===================================================
