My openSUSE 11.1 (KDE) has lost the ability play sounds. Mp3's and wav's don't work in VLC, MPlayer, Amarok 2 or Songbird. Strangely, playing the test sound in the Yast Sound card configurator works fine. I've tried "rcalsasound restart", but it didn't help. I also tried toggling on and off the "Enable PulseAudio Support" in sound card settings, but it made no difference. I don't know where to look next.
