If not, try starting NS as /opt/netscape/netscape instead of using SuSE's netscape wrapper. The wrapper is broken for quite a while and nobody seems have cared of been able fixing it.
I wasn't using the wrapper. But thanks to all of you, it is now fixed.
plugger.so was in ~/.netscape, so I removed it and NS now works.
What is the correct way to get plugger to work
I've never had a problem with Netscape on SuSE but I had this problem on my Slackware box. I could run netscape with plugger installed as my user and root but no other user could use netscape. I took out plugger.so until I could have time to figure it out. Seeing this thread I changed the perms on /tmp/ndebug to root.users 660. Now everyone can run it just fine. -- B. L.
