As a user, I click on the OpenOffice.org and it installs the whole thing into my local directory (so we need a whole copy for every user?).
You need to select the first option which will end up something like 1.3 MB of installation file
Now when I try and use it, it want to save the file into /opt/OpenOffice.org/work, which doesn't exist.
as a normal user you should not have permissions to make directories or files in these areas you should only be able to do in youyr home directory
OK, I can create that (but why? what is the point of the directories in my user filesystem?). Saving the file gives errors, and blows awayOpenOffice ... but sometimes actually saves it. Not consistently ...
