Try uncommenting that on both computers, then put the cable between each machines serial port 1. You can increase the speed if the cable can handle that.

I'm having trouble on locating information for setting up a serial connection between two computers to log into a console. I normally telnet (ssh) into my SuSE 6.3 file server from my Windows 98 machine. Sometimes the network and/or access to that machine drops out for various reasons I'm still trying to track down. However, the local console is still active. Since I'm such a lazy bastard, I would like to run a serial cable from my Windows machine to log in rather than opening up the computer closet to access the local console. Any pointers on how to do this and/or web links would be greatly appreciated.
