Er.... I had to spend a few minutes to gather what this was about. I had to sort by poster, then I found another message from you with the same subject, to find out. You made two mistakes: 1) You hijacked a thread. This consists of creating an apparently new email, by clicking on "reply" to a previous email from somebody else, then changing the subject and deleting the old contents. However, internally there are headers that show that your mail IS a reply to something else, and is sorted accordingly (Click on the left-most sort box of your mozilla mail, left of "subject" window pane) 2) ¡You answered to a question by Patrick on a different thread! This makes your answer very difficult to find. Look how your email is sorted, as answers to a different thread (marked with "*": N Sep 7 Jerome R. Looks right to me, the SMTP server relay.firstnet.net.uk is working fine and does not require authentication (uses source IP)
Fire up iptraf, and watch to see if a connection attempt is made to your SMTP remote server. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
