NetBeans on SuSE 9.1 - installation ect.
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has installed and used NetBeans Java IDE on SuSE Linux? I am interested in learning how to install it and how good it is...general impressions etc. I am working on web development projects mainly and would like to use it for a while working with the jakarta struts frame work. I downloaded a bin file for the install but was not able to install it on my 9.1 Pro version I could not find any docs on NetBeans web site, so if you have any advice for me it is more then welcome. Thanks in advance. ===== ..: G. Stoianov :.. Hi George, I currently have both the 3.6 and 4.0 beta version of Netbeans loaded onto two 9.1 Pro boxes. I'm still learning Java, so I can't claim any knowledge of how well Netbeans advance features work, but it works great for the simple Java web applets I create with it.

As for my install, I just downloaded the Netbeans/SDK combo from sun. Opened up a terminal window. cd'd into the proper directory. Ran sux and then ran the bin file. Once setup was finished, I manually created my KDE menu links. I will say that in both cases I did have the SDK which shipped with 9.1 already loaded before I started the installation. Then, since the SDK that came from Sun was newer, I changed all of the Java links in /usr/lib to point to SDK Netbeans load Hope I was some help... Ken
I have also installed in on both SuSE 9.0 and SuSE 9.1.

Er.... I had to spend a few minutes to gather what this was about. I had to sort by poster, then I found another message from you with the same subject, to find out. You made two mistakes: 1) You hijacked a thread. This consists of creating an apparently new email, by clicking on "reply" to a previous email from somebody else, then changing the subject and deleting the old contents. However, internally there are headers that show that your mail IS a reply to something else, and is sorted accordingly (Click on the left-most sort box of your mozilla mail, left of "subject" window pane) 2) ¡You answered to a question by Patrick on a different thread! This makes your answer very difficult to find. Look how your email is sorted, as answers to a different thread (marked with "*": N Sep 7 Jerome R. Fire up iptraf, and watch to see if a connection attempt is made to your SMTP remote server. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
