Hi, i would like to operate a second computer so i can use more hard disks and CPU power. Is this easy to do with 1 monitor and keyboard ? I am already using a simple router. What is the best setup you would recommend ? Remote desktop support is already built into Linux. One method is to use XDMCP, which will allow you to access the desktop of a different computer and switch between computers. How exactly would you use it to avoid security problems ? The explanation on http://en.opensuse.org/Remote_Access_to_SUSE is not very clear to me. And what is the advantage of NX/VNC ?
Kind regards Philippe
I believe you can send X through ssh, though I've never done that. You can also use a VPN, which I have done.
You can ... ssh -Xf [<username>@]<hostname> xterm at CLI, which works well for me as a starting point for local access.... I vaguely remember having to do something with the config to get it to work but that was a loooong time ago. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
